Our daughter Lucy has severe learning difficulties and our anxiety levels began to increase at an alarming rate when she was due to leave Ravenscliffe High School, Calderdale's only Special Needs Secondary School when she reached 19 last year. Ravenscliffe provided an excellent safe and stimulating environment for 8 years of her life. However, what were we going to do "Life After Ravenscliffe"?

In September 2007 Lucy started attending The Next Step Trust for 2 days a week. Lucy has never looked back!!! Through innovative thinking The Next Step Trust arranged for Lucy to travel on her familiar mode of transport "The Yellow Bus" which has avoided and prevented real home behavioural issues for mum and dad. A measure of Lucy's reaction to life as a Next Stepper is to see the huge radiating smile when she leaves for the Yellow Bus in the morning and the same radiant smile when she returns in the evening. What happens in between is relayed to us by the daily record book which allows us an insight to the varied activities Lucy is involved in. May it long continue.
