The Santander Foundation has kindly provided a grant of £6,000 to fund the cost of a catering course for seven Next Steppers to be run for 30 weeks.

The course includes identifying food, shopping, simple food preparation (cutting, slicing,etc) through to actual cooking and presentation. The course is designed to provide enhanced independent living skills together with the understanding and appreciation of money through the shopping experiences and meal budgeting.

We aim to encourage and enable individuals to develop and maintain these essential skills and disciplines, and each of the seven Next Steppers will have an individual plan so that their progression can be monitored to assist in them acquiring everyday life skills for their time outside of The Next Step Trust environment.

This is a very important course and will help to promote individual levels of independence. We extend a very big thank you to Santander and are sure that this will be a great opportunity for those attending the course.
