Paul
Paul left Ravenscliffe when he was 16 as he felt unable to cope, and spent the next four years at home with Mum..
Since attending The Next Step Trust from Summer 2007, Paul has changed from a slightly withdrawn person into someone more involved in general society, and has confidence now in talking to "strangers" to express his views and choices in daily activities.
Paul is always keen to attend The Next Step Trust and takes part in all activities from using a computer, shopping for food, cooking and even washing up! Things he did not do before! He also visits Ravenscliffe to use their adapted bikes and go-carts, chooses his own DVDs at the central public library and enjoys gardening activities at the Trust's gardens.
Also his Mum has been able to have more time herself socially and has rediscovered hobbies which were not possible when she was a 24 hour / 7 day carer.
The Next Step Trust has proved a wonderful experience for Paul and Mum to expand their horizons and develop a life independently of each other for the times Paul attends
Paul has matured himself and would attend more if possible.
