Sue Sharma - Physiotherapist
I have been attending Next Step on Thursday mornings for the last year and a half. Many of the students have been known to me from the past so it is really good to catch up with everyone.
My role as physiotherapist has been to assess the Next Steppers, set up personal management programmes and to work with the personal support assistants who implement these programmes on a daily basis. A 24 hour approach is the only way to address many of these young people's needs, and it has given me great satisfaction to see their support competently and enthusiastically following the programmes. Many of the young people also attend the local hydropherapy pool which is especially good for them.
The staff at The Next Step Trust are extremely dedicated and hard working, wanting the very best for their young people. The time spent by the young people at Next Step is very enriching, further improving the quality of their lives.
